This programme was first introduced in the 1987/1988
academic session, and has been looked after by the Students Affairs
Section since the 1988/1989 academic session.
It is specifically intended for selected numbers
of an outstanding UBD students, after the completion of their second year. These
students will be sent abroad to follow appropriate courses in
the participating university for one academic year. Upon completion
of this programme, the students will return to complete their
fourth year and graduate from UBD.
The main purpose of this programme is to enable
students to broaden their horizons by exposing them to a different
academic environment abroad. Another purpose is to able the participating
universities to be aware of the UBD's drive to achieve the international
standard of higher education. The current participating universities
are: from Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universiti
Sains Malaysia; from the United Kingdom, University of Durham,
University of Kent and University of Warwick; from Australia,
University of Adelaide, University of Flinders and James Cook
University of North Queensland; and from Jordan, University of
Yarmouk.
