One of the major role of the
centre is to promote IT literacy through training and seminars.
The Centre provides training for the University administrative
staff in all aspects of the use of information processing facilities
either on regular or ad-hoc.
All departments in the University
make use of computers for course development and research,
for data storage, retrieval and analysis. The Centre also provide
assistance to the academic staff in these areas of application.
One of the daily task of the
Centre is Hardware and Software Maintenance. The services provided
by the Centre include the installation of hardware and software,
repairs of hardware and recovery of lost data and corrupted
software. The maintenance room located at the ground floor
of the Centre is used for repairing and housing spare parts.
The Centre also provides advice, guidance and technical manuals
for users to facilitates their computing activity.
A Call Centre, located at the
Ground floor of the Centre, is intended for receiving service
request calls by phone or emails. The Call Centre can be contacted
