Classroom Services

Equipment installation

Technical staff are available to install equipment in teaching rooms at UBD. Equipment includes:

public address systems

video and data projection equipment

Equipment operation

ETC can be called upon to operate audio-visual equipment installed in University buildings. This includes public address systems in the:

University Mosque

Sports complex

Staff/Student Centre Multi purpose Hall

Equipment loan

Audio-visual equipment is available for loan to UBD staff. Equipment includes:

Slide projectors

Video and audio cassette recorders

Television monitors

Video cameras

The loan period varies according to the type of equipment and the needs of the borrower. Please contact the relevant ETC staff member shown under Who to contact.

Equipment maintenance

ETC co-ordinates maintenance of all UBD's audio-visual equipment.

Off-air recording

ETC has installed satellite dishes and decoders to provide access to 178 television stations broadcast over 54 satellites.

Off-air recording of programs for use as teaching aids can be made on request, subject to copyright restrictions.

Micro teaching rooms

Two micro teaching rooms are available in the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education. Each room has a remote controlled camera, a VCR and two television monitors installed. The rooms are used to record student teaching presentations on video tape for later analysis.

A third room to record student presentations, equipped in the same fashion, is available in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies.
