Dr. Radi Ibrahim El-Bdour (Associate Professor)   Dr Radi

Academic/Professional Qualifications:
B.Sc. Economics (U.S.A), M.Sc. Finance & Economics (U.S.A), Ph.D Money & Banking – Islamic Banking (U.S.A), C.PA

 

Graduated from Indiana State University with a B.Sc. in Economics and M.Sc in Finance and Economics while on Scholarship from the University. Worked as Cost analyst, Financial Analyst, Assistant Financial Controller and Financial Controller and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) while working for Gulf & Western Corporation and GATX-Fuller Corporation in the United States (1973- 1979).

Served as Instructor and assistant professor teaching financial economics, accounting, banking and finance including Islamic Banking and Finance Courses for 20 years at Yarmouk University and the University of Jordan (1979-1999).

 

Served as Deputy General Manager for Academic Affairs and General Manager of the Center for Banking & Financial Research at the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences in Jordan (1991-1993) and (2000-2002).

Served as Senior Instructor in the Islamic Banking & Finance Learning Center of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (2002-2003).

Served as Deputy Dean of the School of Business at Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates (2003- 2006).

Currently an Associate Professor with the Center for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management at University of Brunei Darussalam in subject related to Islamic Banking and Finance as well as Islamic Accounting and Auditing at the undergraduate level and Accounting for Islamic Banking at the Masters level.

  • World Premium Income Volume for 2000 And Projections for Takaful and Re-Takaful Premiums from 2002-2011. Joint research conducted with Dr. Sogu Ewedemi, Fullbright Scholar at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) for the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA).
  • Investment Determinants in Islamic Banking: Some Theoretical and Empirical Results.
  • Allocation of profits in Islamic Banks – presented in a workshop held in the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance in 2003.
  • Islamic Banking Instruments – presented in a conference held by Ajman University for Science and Technology held in Ajman, United Arab Emirate in February 2005.
  • Takaful and Re-Takaful projections and prospects presented in a workshop held in the Abu-Dhabi Takaful Company, November 2005.
