Mission

To support economic diversification through innovations and high quality graduate training.

The Centre for Advanced Material and Energy Sciences (CAMES) primary purpose is to conduct research on energy and functional materials for sustainable living. CAMES provides a platform for researchers from various fields to come together to conceptualise ideas, and find solutions to problems pertaining to energy and advanced material.

CAMES core research areas are in Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC), Perovskite Solar Cell (PSC), Nano-technologies applications in sensors, catalysis, and photonics, and in Renewable Energy; solar PV, and wind.

At the national level CAMES collaborates closely with the Energy and Industry Department Prime Minister Office (EDPMO), and local industry. Internationally, CAMES collaborates with universities and research institutes around the world, such as Nanyang Institute of Technology (NTU), Singapore, the Institute for Materials Research & Engineering (IMRE), Singapore, Institute of Advanced Energy (IAE), Kyoto University, Institute of Chemical Research (ICR), Kyoto University, Osaka University, Victoria University, Australia, Australian National University, National Taiwan Ocean University, National Applied Research Laboratories, Taiwan, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), and Korea University.

CAMES offers graduate studies programmes in energy sciences and material sciences. CAMES welcomes research and student inquiries.

CAMES wish to take this opportunity to thank the Brunei Research Council (BRC) and the Energy & Industry Department Prime Minister Office (EIDPMO) for their continuous support. A majority of CAMES research is funded by the BRC.
