    The Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Research (IBER) successfully hosted a visiting group from two Czech Republic Universities, Palacky University and Ostrava University, from 4 to 22 January 2014. Led by zoologists Dr. Tomas Kuras and Dr. Ivan Tuf (Palacky University) and Dr. Petr Kocarek (Ostrava University), and botanists Dr. Martin Dancak (Palacky University) and Dr. Radim Hedl (Czech Academy of Sciences), the group of fifteen graduate students and seven academics were in Brunei for a tropical ecology field course. Joining them were three Biology graduate students from the Faculty of Science, UBD.
