In a bid to help students and parents to better understand the Discovery Year programme, the Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) organised the Discovery Showcase Year 2017.
Officially launched by the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Corporate and Administration) Hjh Rubiah Hj Yacub on 2nd February 2017, the Inspiring Hall in the Student Centre of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) hosted exhibitions and allowed for direct interaction with students who took up the programme both locally and abroad. The two-day showcase also featured local and international stakeholders and partners.
Meanwhile in the Bamboo Hall, students who took up incubation during the Discovery Year had the opportunity to promote their products and services. Visitors could purchase products such as food or learn more about specific skills on offer.
Discovery Year is part of the GenNEXT Programme which sees students in the third year off to pursue study abroad, try their hand at entrepreneurship, give back with community outreach or obtain industry experience with internship.
