Youth Leadership & Entrepreneurship Forum

Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, 6 - 7 November 2008

Leadership & Entrepreneurship:
Transforming Youth Energy into Productivity

Without a doubt, the contribution of all segments of the society is crucial for national development. Youths of Brunei should therefore seek to understand their roles and maximize their potential as contributors of any form of national progress. You might have heard this being said over and over again, but it can’t be said enough: youths are our country’s assets. As assets, we want to encourage you to realize your potentials by way of learning from the successes (and even failures!) of others. This two-day Forum is the perfect avenue for you to participate in activities that will hopefully spark that light in you to get going.

Whether you’re a student at school or at university; or whether you’ve just started work or are still waiting for that job call, we believe that this Forum can benefit you. You might even have started your own business or maybe you’ve worked for years. It is still always good to learn new things from other people’s experiences. During this Forum, you will have that opportunity to listen to talks given by our own national youth leaders and entrepreneurs. Just look at their profiles below and you’ll soon realize that these people could be you in a few years’ time! In addition to learning how they came to be where they are now, you will also have a chance to hear what they have to say about setting personal goals, keeping your eyes on the prize, and being your own leader by grabbing on to that entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll hear how our speakers have been able to take advantage of things around them or that has happened to them (like the Internet, unemployment, passion, and even disabilities) and transformed those as assets rather than liabilities. Here’s your chance to learn how you too can keep that motivation burning, make preparations for the future, and make changes to things that you may see as holding you down.

Being a leader to yourself is the place to start! So remember, when you attend this Forum, take the lead and do ask questions!

Check out our e-brochure for details on how to participate in this Forum.
