Presentations

The time alloted for the presentation of each paper will be 20 minutes. There will be an additional 10 minutes for presenters to answer questions about their presentation.


Submission Deadlines

Abstracts should reach the Conference Secretariat no later than 24th January 2009. Notification of acceptance of submitted abstract: 28th February 2009.

REGISTRATION

Registration Fee

USD150 (Early Bird) for registration and payment before 30th March 2009.

USD200 (Regular) for registration fee received after 30th March 2009 and on-site.


BND170 (Local participants only).

BND100 (Local paper presenters only).


(Note: Universiti Brunei Darussalam is unable to offer any financial assistance to participants.)


Participants’ full registration fee includes:

  1. Conference bag and full programme.

  2. Book of abstracts.

  3. Refreshments during official conference breaks.

  4. Lunch (Conference days).


Confirmation of Participation

The Conference Secretariat will confirm your participation in the conference after receipt of both your registration form and registration fees.


Procedure for paper acceptance:

When an abstract is received it will be referred to the selection committee. If the abstract indicates that the paper should be accepted, an e-mail to this effect will be sent to the proposer. A letter of acceptance will be sent following receipt of the completed registration form and conference fees.


Please note that acceptance of your abstract will not be considered final until the registration forms and fees have been received.


Cancellation Policy

Written notification is required for all cancellations. A copy of the registration form should be attached to the letter of notification and sent to the Secretariat. Registration fees and deposits will be refunded after charging a cancellation fee.


Currency

All conference fees are calculated in BND for local participants and in USD for participants from other countries.


Registration Instructions

All participants are requested to use one form per person for registration.

Personal cheques or credit card payments will not be accepted.


Foreign currency will not be accepted during onsite registration. For information, the Brunei dollar is pegged to the Singapore dollar at a 1:1 ratio.


All registration forms and payment received by the Conference Secretariat will be acknowledge by email. If you do not receive such acknowledgement, please send a follow-up email to verify.


SPECIAL NOTE FOR LOCAL PARTICIPANTS ONLY

Local participants (non-paper presenters) may register and pay the local conference fee of BND170 in cash. This can be paid anytime at the UBD Finance Section up until the first day of conference: 21st May 2009.


If you are a local paper presenter, you should register and pay the local conference fee of BND100 in cash at the UBD Finance Section by 2nd May and submit your full paper so that you can be included in the Conference Programme.


Note that if you are a Government School Teacher (whether you are a paper presenter or participant), you should check with your principal as you may be eligible for financial support from the Ministry of Education.
