Conference Venue

The venue for the conference is the campus of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). It is located close to the northern coastline of Borneo beside the South China Sea. It is only 15 minutes drive from Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be held on Friday, 22nd May 2009.


Language

The official languages of the conference are English and Malay. Simultaneous translation and interpretation will not be available.


Visas

Please confirm whether you need a visa with your travel agent or the Brunei Embassy/High Commission. Further advice may be obtained from the Conference Secretariat or here.


Letter of Invitation

Participants who need an official invitation letter in order to attend the conference may write to the Conference Secretariat specifying the necessary details. This service is designed only to assist participants who need to obtain a visa or permission to attend the conference. It should not be considered as an official invitation covering fees or other expenses.


Accommodation

A range of variously priced types of accommodation has been provisionally reserved for conference participants. Please go to the list of suggested accommodation on this site for details. Participants will need to make their own booking as early as possible to secure the accommodation of their choice.


Exploring Brunei Darussalam











Situated on Borneo Island, Brunei Darussalam offers a wealth of cultural and recreational experiences. These include: visiting museums; exploring interesting places; jungle trekking and wildlife tours. For participants who would like to avail themselves of these opportunities, Sunday the 24th has been programmed as an educational visit day. Please make arrangements with the following tour operators who will have booths set up in the Chancellor Hall Foyer (Universiti Brunei Darussalam).
