This leading edge Master of Teaching (MTeach) degree will provide prospective teachers with a professional qualification for entry to the teaching profession. Applicants must have achieved the following:


  1. Normally, a good honours degree (at least second class lower) or equivalent from a recognised university
  2. Excellent English communication skills with a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL of 600
  3. For the Primary and Early Childhood Education pathways, an applicant must have, in addition, at least 5 GCE ‘O’ level credits, including English, Mathematics and Science
  4. For the Secondary and Vocational and Technical Education pathways, the applicant’s undergraduate studies must be relevant to the choice of subject specialisation
  5. Successful performance in an interview

MASTER OF Education

 

This Master of Education (MEd) degree provides experienced education professionals with the opportunity to develop their knowledge of education and their critical analytical skills in the field at masters-level through further study and research.  The knowledge and skills obtained from this programme will enhance participants’ performance and develop the capacity to deal with complex issues systematically and creatively, to make the best possible judgments based on available data and to communicate clearly to specialist and non-specialist audiences. It will build the confidence to demonstrate initiative, to be self directed and be original in defining and solving problems.

Applicants must have achieved the following:


  1. i. normally a second class Bachelor’s degree teaching qualification
    OR
    ii. a second class Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject plus a professional postgraduate teaching qualification

  2. at least two years of teaching and/or relevant professional experience.
  3. i. for English medium programmes at least a credit 6 in English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level or a grade ‘C’ in IGCSE (as a first or second Language) OR an IELTS score of 6.0 OR a TOEFL minimum overall score of 550 OR completed Bachelor’s degree in English medium.

    ii. for Malay medium programme at least a credit 6 in Malay Language at GCE ‘O’ Level OR completed Bachelor’s degree in Malay medium.

Applicants must submit a research proposal in English for English medium and in Malay for Malay medium programmes.

 

Applicants must successfully complete an interview and may be required to undergo further tests.

 

 

DIPLOMA KAUNSELING

 

This Malay medium postgraduate programme provides a strong training in foundations of counselling and research, and a practicum in counselling. Successful completion of this programme is a qualification to practice independently as a counsellor within Brunei Darussalam. Fee Paying private individuals can apply.

Duration:

 

One year full-time (commencing in August 2009).
