THE LANGUAGE CENTRE

The Language Centre was established in 2001.

The mission of the Language Centre is to respond to changing educational and commercial environments and to enhance the University’s reputation as the major provider of high quality education and training in the country.

The objectives of the Language Centre:

The Language Centre is the hub for students and the wider Brunei Society for the learning of Borneo, Southeast Asian and other international languages. 

The Centre organizes and streamlines all language and communication modules offered by UBD (particularly those for academic, professional and other specialized purposes).

The Centre also helps orchestrate student international activities including the Discovery Year.  Besides that, the Language Centre staff are regularly consulted as examiners and advisors, both in government agencies and schools.

The main staple of the Language Centre is in the teaching of the Compulsory Breadth English module. The Centre also offers Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced modules in:
