Activities held regularly include screenings of foreign movies as well as a foreign Language and Culture Weeks, which serve to showcase different aspects of foreign languages and foreign cultures. <br /> <br /> Such activities are a constant on the Language Centre s agenda and are geared towards making known the courses available at the Centre, as well as promoting the function of the Centre as the focal coordinator of foreign-language teaching in the country. <br /> <br /> Through these events, the Centre also aims to display the diverse and perhaps little-known elements of different cultures, on top of offering language students the opportunity to learn their respective language in context by being able to relate them to their original cultural environments. </p> <hr> <p align="center"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">BELTA International Conference 2012</span></p> <p align="center"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Date : 05 April 2012</span></p> <p align="center"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Venue: The Language Centre, UBD</span></p> <p align="center"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Time : yet to be announced</span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Description: The Brunei English Language Teachers Association (BELTA) International Conference 2012, organised in collaboration with the Language Centre, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, is targeted at all teaching the English Language, users of the English Language as their medium of instruction as well as those concerned with the teaching and learning of the English Language.
