Introduction
The Institute of Medicine, Universiti Brunei
Darussalam was inaugurated in September 2000.
It was established in line with the vision of
the Government of Brunei Darussalam to provide
medical training not only to Brunei students
but also to students from other parts of this
region as expressed by His Majesty the Sultan
in his speech during the twelfth Convocation.

To organize, promote, develop and undertake
education and research in medicine at undergraduate
and postgraduate levels.

To organize and conduct postgraduate
training programmes, seminar and workshops
in medicine.

To establish close association and collaboration
with universities, research institutions
and professional bodies in medicine within
and outside Brunei Darussalam with the
object of promoting and developing continuing
education and research in medicine.

To publish bulletins, newsletters, journal
and other literature with the object of
promoting and developing advancement in
medicine.

To coordinate with the relevant authorities
in Brunei Darussalam in matters relating
to advanced studies and research in
medicine with the object of further improving
patient
care and medical service in the country
