Major and Minor courses in two subjects chosen from
Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics are
studied in the Faculty of Science. New courses for
the Science components of the B.Sc. Ed. degree
programme are being progressively introduced by
Departments in the Faculty of Science, from the
1999/2000 Academic Year.
From the 2000/2001 intake, the structure of the BSc.
Ed degree programme has been revised so that
Education and Science subjects are taken in
different semesters, either through an end-on model
or an embedded model. Students taking B.Sc Education
(Mathematics Major) follow embedded model in which
they will spend semesters 3, 4 and 5 at SHBIE. Other
science majors will follow end-on model in which
they will spend semesters 6, 7 and 8 at SHBIE
