BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (BBA) (HONS)

The primary goal for this four year full time BBA programme is to provide individuals with the expertise and attitudes they need to become professional managers. Specific goals include:

  • Providing a clear understanding of the varied economic, political, and social environments in which businesses operate.
  • Fostering innovative, critical and creative thinking and a receptivity to new approaches to solve problems.
  • Providing basic analytical skills in functional areas of business.
  • Developing expertise in applying various skills to business strategy development.
  • Refining interpersonal skills for productive working relationships with colleagues, staff, and clientele.
  • Encouraging the growth of ethical and socially-responsible managers.
  • Building self-confidence for facing various business challenges in a competitive environment.
  • Providing an awareness and understanding of the business dynamics in the ASEAN region.
  • Developing an attitude that stimulates a pattern of lifelong learning.

The Department of Business and Management is committed to providing first-class business and management education. The BBA programme underlines this commitment. The distinctive features of this programme are:

  • A curriculum that is enriched with the latest developments in management theory and practice.
  • An opportunity for students to specialise in any of the functional areas of business.
  • Availability of a wide range of electives for students.
  • Courses designed to provide students with a comprehensive exposure to practical aspects of business and management.
  • An opportunity to learn in tutorial sessions led by faculty members using a range of pedagogical methods to enhance learning.
  • The possibility of transfer to the University of Sheffield to pursue the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management at the end of the 2nd year.
The BBA degree holders can expect to leave Universiti Brunei Darussalam with an impressive skills package based on, among others, a solid grasp of areas such as human resource management, marketing management, accounting and finance, information technology, Islamic banking business studies and decision science. These will give them a firm foundation on which they can build a successful managerial career in industry, commerce or the public service.
