The main objective of this programme is to increase the number of professional expertise in the country, given the existing gap in the provision of professional development in accountancy. Furthermore, it aims to create the awareness of accounting contribution to both private and public sector organizations and towards the economy as a whole.
Students following BA Accounting and Finance have the opportunity to undertake ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountant, UK) examinations after the completion of the programme. Apart from ACCA, they would be able to do other UK accounting and secretarial qualifications such as CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK), ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK) and ICPA (Institute of Certified Public Financial Accountants).
In delivering the programme effectively to the students, small tutorial groups, project works, web-sites exercises, case studies and practical learning are applied and supported by high caliber lecturers, tutors and invited accounting professions.
