|
Type of Course: |
Should be specified. However, a

Elective for a different programme. A course can only have
one code. The definitions of the different types of courses
- Core, Elective, Option etc. will be prepared separately by
APMC. |
|
Year: |
This may vary according to the programme and
whether it is a Core or Elective etc. The Year should be
based on the level at which the course is taught, not when a
particular course is taken. |
|

| Assessment: |
Examination: |
% the number & duration of examinations should be
included (e.g. comprising one three-hour paper)
|
| |

& tests) but the number of these should not be included. |
|
Textbook(s) / References: |
Suggest that these should be in
alphabetical order and should be split, with Textbooks being
restricted to those books that students are expected to
purchase, and References being limited to a maximum of 4
books. It should not be necessary to have both, or even
either, in the Course Outline, if the course does not need
them. Staff should not list their own books as Textbooks as
this may be interpreted as trying to make students buy them.
Referencing should use the APA citation style. |
